Train Maintenance Workshop
L-Series Train Workshop
The requirement for a train maintenance workshop came from a UK based client specialising in the manufacture of rolling stock. Part of their operation included the leasing of an existing workshop on their site in the Midlands. When the lease of this building was taken over by another company, they needed to find an alternative covered area to work on the trains. And, of course, it needed to be built over the track to enable the easy transfer in and out of the trains.
The client was already educated in temporary buildings and workshops as another rail company on site was using an HTS tentiQ workshop building for the same purpose. This knowledge meant they were able to go directly to HTS as the main manufacturer without needing to carry out any time intensive research or cost comparison exercises. As a fast turnaround was important to ensure no downtime, this direct route to the manufacturer was invaluable. The following train workshop was specified, manufactured and took just 4 days to install on site.
- Maintenance workshop 10.00m wide by 25.00m long with 6.20m wall height
- 1 x personnel doors
- 2 x electric steel roller shutter doors
- UPVC guttering including down-pipes
- Insulated composite wall panels
- Thermo roof – industrial grade, air-filled white PVC coated fabric
- Build time – 4 days
Working directly with the main industry manufacturer meant the client benefitted in other ways alongside the fast turnaround time. Some temporary building suppliers will sell a building from Ex-Hire stock, with mismatching components and out of date warranties. HTS tentiQ Industrial Buildings supplied, as standard, a brand new, factory built train maintenance workshop, complete with full warranties on main components and installation works. And, with all designs, engineering and manufacturing done in-house, there is no one who will understand the product better, ensuring a high-quality structure, seamless project delivery and an assured after-sales service.
