Commercial Storage Structure for Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning
L Series Customised Building
The client contacted HTS tentiQ Industrial Buildings when they needed a commercial storage structure for a large project decommissioning a nuclear power plant. The client is a global specialist in the design, build and operation of infrastructure to generate and supply energy for businesses, homes and public sector.
Much more complex than simply disconnecting from the grid, the project needed extensive logistical planning which included a new storage and dispatch area that could meet the site’s strict health and safety criteria and remain in situ for 25 years.
Although the commercial storage structure needed to be customised to the client and site requirements, it still needed to be demountable. With an expert design team and state of the art production facility in Germany, HTS tentiQ Industrial Buildings can not only design and manufacture a bespoke unit that can be engineered for semi-permanent use, but they can do so at a more competitive price to many other suppliers.
The final structure designed and built on site consisted of the following specification and features:
- Customised size of 30.00m wide x 69.00m long x 5.50m high
- Insulated wall cladding with wall fans
- Single skin roof cladding
- Front canopy
- Side roof overhang
- Exterior guttering
- Vehicle and pedestrian access doors
- Partial fixings on concrete wall
